Hello and welcome to STEPPE's official website! We are a Ukrainian-Canadian zabava band from Edmonton, Canada.  The term steppe (pronounced "step") refers to the vast and beautiful grasslands of Ukraine, which in many ways is similar to the geography of Western Canada, our home.

A zabava is a Ukrainian party with tons of food, plenty of drinks, and dancing all night long. STEPPE plays the kind of music that gets people up and dancing!  We draw from a wide selection of live dance music for all functions and events,  everything from the most current Ukrainian dance hits to the more traditional polkas, waltzes and of course the "kolomeyka" or Ukrainian circle dance, where young and old take the opportunity to show off their Ukrainian dance skills . You want North American music?  We play that too!  Classic Rock, Oldies, Country, Top 40.  We pride ourselves on our versatility and our ability to cater to all musical tastes.
